Farmers Block National Highway in Boudh Over Fertilizer Shortage

In Boudh district, farmers staged a road blockade at Khuntabandh on the Khurda-Balangir National Highway-57 demanding fertilizer. The agitation, which lasted for more than five hours, brought vehicular traffic to a complete standstill on both sides of the highway as thousands of farmers sat on the road in protest over non-availability of urea.

Following information, Boudh Tehsildar Anita Sahu and SDPO Laren Rautray, along with a platoon of police force, rushed to the spot and tried to pacify the agitating farmers. Alleging irregularities in fertilizer distribution at Khuntabandh PACS, the farmers demanded immediate corrective measures.
