Yemen Strike Kills Up to 73 Young Recruits in Shabwa

Описание: The death toll from a Houthi ballistic-missile strike on a Yemeni training camp has risen sharply, officials told AP on Tuesday.

On Monday, missiles hit the al-Alam training camp in Shabwa province, southern Yemen — a strike the Houthis acknowledged through their Saba news agency. Three Yemeni officials told AP the death toll rose to 60, while one senior official put it at 73. All were new recruits, aged 18 to 20, lining up in formation for a training session. Officials call it the deadliest strike since fighting escalated three months ago, and say the toll is preliminary and could rise. At least a dozen are still missing, and more than 200 were wounded. Governor Awad Ibn al-Wazir told AP the recruits were being trained for provincial security, not combat.
