Join me on todays walk around Osterley Park. Its late February and finally we have an afternoon of blue skies. The daffodils are just starting to open but the snow drops are in full bloom and simply gorgeous. A short walk from Osterley tube station on the Piccadilly line and we start our walk at the main entrance and long private driveway to the house. On either side are open fields and if you look closely, you'll spot some horses grazing. Loop around the lake and there stands Osterley Park in all its majestic grandeur.

First, we explore the free part of the park, meandering past open fields, watching various cycles zip by (there is a bike hire at the car park entrance), taking in the wilderness by the lake before heading back.

Behind the main building are the formal gardens and parkland of Osterley park (paid entrance). See the white Garden house peeking through the trees, clumps of snow drops at the bases of towering old trees, there is a Greek folly, a pair of ducklings foraging for food with their parents and sunlight filtering through the trees and warming the back of the house and the sweeping staircase.

Osterley Park is a National Trust property. Originally built as a Tudor house, it was transformed into what you see today in the 18th century. It has been used as a filming location for many period dramas over the years including Bridgerton season three, Vanity fair, Rebecca, The Dark Knight Rises, The Crown and Persuasion just to name a few.
