In this video, I created the initial shari for the Shimpaku juniper. Shari is the Japanese term for dead wood along the trunk of a bonsai. It can enhance a tree's character and is often used on evergreen trees like Juniper. In nature, deadwood can form when a tree is struck by lightning, drought, or when branches break due to wind, snow, or ice.
