Busy afternoon Plane Spotting at Manchester Airport | 26-09-21

Autumn is well and truly underway now, and so is a step towards normality as airport traffic continue's to increase. This visit to Manchester was probably the busiest I've seen it since the lockdowns, Emirates have resumed use of the A380, Jet2 are now using the 757's again, a load of holiday flights from both TUI, Jet2 and Easyjet. It's so great to see, and as the restrictions drop again in October it can only get better

I started off southside filming 23R arrivals and departures, capturing a Turkish A330 departing as well as the Emirates A380 and Qatar 777 on arrival. Then after they had come in I decided to visit the Visitor park - Somewhere I have not been to since 2017. I wanted to get a closer up video of the TUI 757's landing as it would be my last time seeing them before they retire. The park has changed a lot since my last visit. The two excellent spotting mounds there have been demolished and replaced with a Private terminal, and now a new singular mound exists, albeit at a lower height. Once the A380 departed and almost everyone had left I stood up on one of the benches to get a clearer view.

It was bittersweet to see the pair of TUI 757s, G-OOBB and G-OOBP landing into Manchester for the last time, as this video is uploading, G-OOBB has already been withdrawn from service and G-OOBP will leave on the 3rd October. It's been great seeing the TUI/Thomson/First Choice/Britannia etc 757's over the many years, such a shame to see another british icon leave the skies
