4K projectors are growing in popularity. Because projection technology has evolved so fast and so well, it’s now possible to get a movie theatre-level experience at home. I had the opportunity to try the JVC DLA-X590R, a 4K e-Shift video projector that can give you professional quality video for your home theatre, or, projection for professional situations like conferences and presentations depending on the room requirements.

I spent several weeks with the JVC DLA-X590R. While JVC has sponsored this post, they have not told me what to say about the projector or what not to say, so this review is my own.
Set-up: JVC DLA-X590R

Getting the JVC DLA-X590R itself set up is extremely simple, but if you want a more permanent installation, like a ceiling mount, obviously more is involved. Really all you'll need to do to start watching videos is plug in the power, and connect a 4K content device, laptop, Blu-ray player or other peripheral via one of the two HDMI ports.

The projector is quite large and heavy so you may need to consult a pro if you're hanging it from the ceiling.

Once things turn on, you'll be able to make your initial adjustments to the picture through the motorized lens. You can adjust the size of the image, focus, and shift the picture around so you can get it perfectly centered on your screen. Don't forget a screen!

By the way... You'll want to make sure you've got a proper screen too. Yes, it's possible to use a wall or even a cloth, but when you're projecting a high quality image like this, you need the fine grain, smoothness, and perfect whiteness of a pro screen like the EluneVision Elara Nano Edge.
