Digitally sculpting a horse for 3D printing

I sculpted Viking digitally, using Zbrush. Here you can see a time lapse of the process! I start by getting the general shape and proportions, then detailing certain areas that need to be symmetrical. I then pose him and sculpt all the rest! Sometimes I 3D print versions in between, so I can see how things are going. I think I did print this version, then made a few more tweaks before he was finished and ready for resin production.
As you can see, it's not that much different from traditional sculpting. My "ball of clay" is just a digital ball of clay.
Since this sculpture was intended for production in 1:54 scale, some details are carved more deeply and exaggerated so they show up in a very small 3D print. I've only been using Zbrush for a few months, so I'm still getting used to how it renders things visually compared to how they will look in real life! I did add more details after this video and before 3D printing him.
