This DC Inverter Stick Welder is One Portable MMA Arc Welding Machine

I bought the MMA (Manual Metal Arc) DC welder when the whole "stay at home" situation began back in March 2020. I was in a huge need to build my home/garage based gym and an easy-to-use welding machine was a must for that.

My first attemps on stick welding were terrible. I couldn't even strike an ark. I didn't know what electrodes to use or even how to connect the cables to the welder. After watching some tutorials I started to get the hang of it. After that I started mastering the movement of my arm, and how fast and how close should the electrode be moved during the welding.

Now I can proudly say that I can build the things I need and they do actually work, even if they don't look that pretty sometimes. But hey, I am still learning ;)

The machine I use is a DC inverter ark welder, which I bough from a local store. The name and model are Tig Tag MMA210 Pro. It is supposed to weld with electrodes up to 4 mm (5/32"), however, the rods I have used so far were all 2.4mm (3/32").

This stick welder has several useful featured, such as "Hot Start" function for easier ark striking, "Anti Stick" function, which is supposed to cut the power off, in order to prevent the electrode from sticking to the work, "Ark Force" function, which also improves the ark in some way, and also a protection against over-heating.

The things I have built so far are a stand for my bench press and weights, a pull up bar, and a video shooting rig for my product unboxings. The thinnest metal I have welded so far is 1 mm (0.039 inch), even though the welds weren't that beautiful (I did them in DC positive, next time I will do them in DC negative, which is supposed to be better for stick welding thin metal).
