It seems summer is finaly here, and about time too...
Therefore I wheeled the Amanco out of the shed to show you how I start it and try it with the 1963 Stuart Turner A4 water pump.
I restored the engine over 10 months, it was acquired as basket case project, it was all in bits and needed some machine work and new parts to get it going again. Associated Hired Man engines were either throttle governed petrol/parasffin or hit and miss petrol engines.This one is a petrol/paraffin model which dates from 1917, 95 years old and still going strong. It makes 2 1/4hp at 450rpm and is ignitor fired with total loss lubrication.
