This November, our latest Knowledge Guild event summed up just what an interesting year it’s been - from major political decisions to the Rio 2016 Olympics. Our line-up of experts, from the spheres of business, politics, sport and futurology, guided the audience through the highs and the lows of 2016 and, most importantly, how its unexpected events are likely to impact the future.

Engaging and charismatic, multi- award-winning sports presenter Hazel Irvine hosted our review of the year and spoke about its sporting successes at Rio 2016. Futurist Richard Watson pulled together data and trends to prepare us for the risks and opportunities lying ahead; the former MD of BMW, Porsche and Lamborghini Kevin Gaskell explained how to transform struggling companies into global successes through difficult times; and former prominent Cabinet minister for the Labour Party and previously Minister of State for Europe Douglas Alexander skillfully navigated the current climate, cementing his place as an authority in foreign and domestic affairs.
