God (Yahweh) Was In Christ/Manifest In Flesh | Establishing the Deity of Jesus | 2 Corinthians

So God the Father is the singular Person of God and His name is Yahweh. There is no God or Saviour beside Him. We can then turn to the New Testament to learn more about the man Jesus Christ. Who exactly is Jesus Christ? Trinitarians believe that Jesus Christ is one of three eternal Persons manifest in the flesh. They look at Jesus Christ as the eternal Son incarnate. Unitarians believe that there is only one God (the Father) but they deny the deity of Jesus Christ. Unitarians don't believe that Jesus Christ is God's Person incarnate. But what does God's Word say? This video will be the beginning of a deeper look into the Word of God on this subject.

By turning to 1 Timothy 3:16, we can learn that God was manifest in the flesh. 1 Corinthians 8:6 confirms to us that there is only one God, the Father. So when it says "God was manifest in the flesh," this is referring to the one singular God whose name is Yahweh. Jesus Christ is the one singular Person of God the Father manifest in the flesh. Jesus is not one of three Persons (an eternal Son) manifest in the flesh. The passage in 1 Timothy also says that God the Father was justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, and received up into glory. How did all of this happen? Through Jesus Christ who is God the Father's very Person incarnate. We can receive confirmation that it was the Father who was manifest in the flesh by turning to 1 John 3:1-5. The subject form verse 1 is the Father and nowhere does the subject change leading up to verse 5 which then says and He (the Father) was manifested to take away our sins and in Him is no sin. God the Father was manifest in the flesh to take away our sins! We can't forget Scriptures (Hosea 13:4; Isaiah 43:11, 45:21) presented in previous videos regarding the one singular Person of God, who's name is Yahweh, being the only Saviour and how there was no Saviour beside Him.

By turning to 2 Corinthians 5:19 we then read, "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation." Unitarians argue that Jesus was not God but that the Spirit of God only dwelt in Him. Trinitarians argue that it was one of three Persons (God the Son) who was in Christ and deny that God the Father's Person was in Christ. But when we understand that there is only one conscious rational being (one Person) who makes up God and it is revealed in God's Word to be the Father who's name is Yahweh, we can then receive revelation that God the Father was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself. This agrees with 1 Timothy 3:16 regarding God being manifest in the flesh. But I want to draw your attention to the context of 2 Corinthians 5. If we begin reading from verse 1, we can see that the apostle Paul is establishing the context of his statement "God was in Christ." By comparing the first 10 verses with verse 19, we can learn that verse 19 is most definitely establishing the deity of Christ. It's declaring that Jesus Christ is God the Father's very Person incarnate. Just like we are spirit beings who dwell in physical bodies that are likened unto houses, buildings, or tabernacles and we will be judged for what we do in our body; thus revealing that our body isn't who we are. Our spirit is who we are. With that understanding, the apostle Paul then declares, that God was in Christ! This is clearly saying that just like our very person (being/spirit) makes this body who we are, God the Father's Person makes Jesus Christ who He is. Praise God! This is why when we see Jesus we will be seeing the Father since Jesus Christ is God the Father's very Person incarnate. The rest of this series will continue discussion on this amazing subject.
