Module 1 - Engaging and Mobilizing Communities for Health and Development introduces the participants to basic definitions and frameworks of community engagement. It also aims to equip them to prioritize population health problems and identify enabling conditions and capacities to develop in order to establish an effective community engagement process.
In the following video, Dr. Mervat Nessiem Gawrgyous of the Health Promotion Unit at the World Health Organization Headquarters discusses the "Community engagement health promotion guide for universal health coverage in the hands of the people" focusing on the different approaches for community engagement.
