Auditory brain response is a way of checking hearing that can be used on anyone from babies to adults. Babies and young children need to be asleep for the test. Older children must lie very still or the test will not work. Ideally, we recommend you arrive at the appointment with your young child awake but ready for a sleep.
Opening times
The department is open from 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday, and 8.30am to 4.30pm Friday. Saturday mornings on an ad-hoc basis.
How to get a referral to us
If you are concerned about your child’s hearing, please see your GP, school nurse, health visitor or speech and language therapist for a referral to Hearing Services (Audiology).
