Speaker: Ernie Heins, P.E.

Mr. Heins is a registered professional engineer in South Carolina and Georgia. He earned his B.S. degree from Clemson University in 1988, and has over 29 years of experience in the design, operation, and maintenance of containment and engineered systems utilizing geosynthetics and other thermoplastic materials. Mr. Heins has served as private sector director for manufacturing on SWANA’s International Board and was the former president of SWANA’s South Carolina Palmetto Chapter. Mr. Heins formerly served as a steering committee member for the National Waste & Recycling Association and is currently active in the National Precast Concrete Association as well as the American Concrete Pipe Association. Over the past ten years, Mr. Heins has served a variety of roles at AGRU America Inc., including his current capacity as business unit manager for specialty products. In this role, Mr. Heins handles the sales, marketing, and technical aspects of concrete protective liners, tunnel lining systems, and semi-finished products.
