Exploring The Eagle’s Nest - The Obersalzberg

Описание: The Obersalzberg was the heart of darkness for Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party.

A favoured retreat by Adolf Hitler following his release from Landsberg, he would write the second part of Mein Kampf on the mountain and become his home from home.

As the Nazi party expanded and obtained power in 1933 it would be come the retreat for the high ranking Nazi officials such as Göering, Bormann, Speer and most notably Adolf Hitler at his private residence - the Berghof. Guarded by the Waffen SS throughout WW2 the area became a fortress.

Bombed by the Royal Air Force and USAAF in April 1945 the area suffered heavy damage.

The famous Kehlsteinhaus or Eagles Nest as it was better known to the Allies was taken by the troops of the 101st Airborne, specifically the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment in May 1945 - with this being depicted in HBO's epic mini-series Band of Brothers.

This video covers the Berghof, Kehlsteinhaus, Teehaus, Hotel zum Türken as well as other less well known buildings that are still in place there.

Filmed in 4K and including lots of original footage of the Obersalzberg all in colour along with original photos too!
