The electromagnetic range is compressed, as described in the Oxygen Spectrum video.
When atoms bond to form molecules, their energy levels interact to form the bonds. The spectrum of a molecule, therefore, is not simply the sum of the spectra of all the elements that compose it. While the spectrum of oxygen has visible colors, the higher energy levels of water, carbon dioxide, and glucose are applied to the bonding, thus their spectra only emit longer wavelengths (lower energy frequencies) in the infrared (heat) band.
A sine wave wash plays "quanta," as with the Oxygen Spectrum video. In addition to the sine wave wash, additional accents are created to bring out the spectral components. A more droppy sound is created to suggest water.
