The new U.S. and North Korean ambassadors were among 15 foreign diplomats to present their credentials to Russian President Vladimir Putin at a ceremony in the Moscow Kremlin, Wednesday.
U.S. diplomat John Tefft replaces Michael McFaul, while Kim Hyun-joon takes over as new North Korean ambassador. The credentials ceremony marks the official start of the work for the newly arrived diplomats at their respective missions in Russia.
Diplomats representing the Central African Republic, Nicaragua, Hungary, Turkey, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Eritrea, the Republic of Djibouti, Ghana, Tanzania, the Republic of Zambia, and Peru also presented their credentials to Putin.
