Margalla Ridge Trail is the longest hiking trail in Islamabad. It starts at a place called Suma near Ghora Gali and ends at a place called Kainthla near Shah Allah Ditta Caves.
The trail is divided into 2 sections. The first section of the trail starts at Suma and ends at Dino Valley. From Dino Valley to Talhaar Mor is a road section. The second section of the trail starts from Talhaar Mor and ends at Kainthla near Shah Allah Dita Caves. In this video, I extended the trek from Kainthla to Trail 7, ending the trek near D-12 Islamabad.
The trail should only be attempted in winters due to its sunlight exposure. Completing the entire trek in a single day is not impossible, but short winter days and security risks at night make a 2-day plan more feasible.
