Описание: In this inspiring reflection, we honor Saint Charles Borromeo, Bishop, Cardinal, and Confessor — a great saint of the 16th century whose faith and courage helped renew the Church during one of its most difficult times. Born into the noble Borromeo family of Milan and nephew of Pope Pius IV, Saint Charles became a cardinal at only 23 years old.

Despite accusations of nepotism, his holiness and dedication proved otherwise. He was a key figure in the Council of Trent, helping to preserve the true faith and safeguard the seven sacraments against the errors of the Protestant Reformation.

Saint Charles also played a vital role in producing the Roman Catechism (Catechism of the Council of Trent), a clear and practical guide for parish priests to teach the faith to the people.

When plague struck Milan, Saint Charles became a true shepherd — selling his possessions, caring for the sick, and personally administering the last sacraments to the dying. He never closed the churches or withheld the sacraments, placing faith and charity above fear — a powerful message even for our modern times.

May his example of pastoral zeal, humility, and courage inspire us today to keep our faith alive amidst trials.
