Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have estranged themselves so much from the Royal Family that they are now "considered outsiders" by the rest of The Firm, a royal expert claims
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are now "considered outsiders" by the Royal Family and there isn't much chance of that changing, according to a royal expert.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield made the claims more than a year on from the Sussexes' bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, when relations between the two sides of the royal row were thought to be at an all time low.
However things haven't improved much since, with the latest sticking point being Harry's refusal to return to the UK for Prince Philip's memorial over security concerns — which insiders suspect 'disappointed' Prince Charles and Prince William.
It still isn't clear whether Harry will make the trip back across the pond for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June, particularly with his tell-all memoir in the works and set to be released later this year.
Unfortunately, Mrs Schofield doesn't think there is much chance of the divide being healed as there is so much "pushback" from Harry and Meghan.
She told the Express: "I just feel like there’s so much animosity right now that they’re considered outsiders.
"We don’t have much time left with the Queen and I wish that he [Harry] would heal the broken wounds that are happening right now so that we can look in the future.
"And one day hopefully see Harry and Meghan within the fold, maybe not working royals, but invited for holidays, invited for Christmas."
Although the couple have yet to confirm if they will be back in Britain for the Queen's big celebrations, are said to be 'top of Victoria and David Beckham's guestlist' for their son Brooklyn Beckham's wedding to Nicola Peltz in Florida this weekend.
The Sussexes' status as outsiders stands in sharp contrast to how their relationship with the rest of The Firm started as a couple.
Royal author Tom Quinn recently claimed that Meghan Markle was “loved” by the Queen when she first joined the Royal Family, but things changed when the former actress wanted to “rewrite the rules”.
