Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry
This RCDSO Connect session explores the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in dental practice and what its use means for Ontario’s dental professionals.
Moderated by Dr. Zubin Austin (University of Toronto), the session features a panel of practising dentists, regulatory and policy leaders, and legal experts, including Dr. Peter C. Fritz (Chair, AI Task Force, RCDSO), Dr. Antony Liscio (RCDSO Council), and Amy Block (WeirFoulds LLP). They explore practical uses of AI in dentistry, ethical and professional responsibilities, and the regulatory and legal issues related to its application.
Through an engaging panel discussion and live Q&A, the session provides insight into the potential benefits and risks of AI tools, considerations around accountability, privacy, and patient safety, and how dentists can assess whether adopting AI is appropriate for their practice.
