Meet David Childers, a musician and artist from Mount Holly, NC, and frontman of the Overmountain Men. Bob Crawford, bass player for the Avett Brothers and The Overmountain Men, is also David's co-writer on many of the Overmountain Men's songs.
David was a gracious and charismatic host when I arrived with cameras at his house, and a pleasure to get to know and film. As Jacob Sharp of the band Mipso said to me, "He is so authentically a North Carolina man...He is the real boss."
The Overmountain Men's second album, "The Next Best Thing," is out now on iTunes and elsewhere.
