The second plot features Livia manipulating her niece, Isabella, into an incestuous relationship with her uncle Hippolito by convincing Isabella that the bond is lawful. These plots demonstrate how wealth and status function as absolute power, allowing the elite (the Duke and Livia) to dismantle moral codes and exploit the poor (Bianca and Leantio) and the naive (Isabella) for their own pleasure.

The play’s title ironically suggests that women are the primary source of danger, but the narrative clearly indicts the patriarchal, economic, and political structures that enable female corruption. Characters like Livia are not simply villains; they are experts at manipulating the system's inherent weaknesses—specifically, the commodification of women for marriage and the overwhelming power of money.
