The United Kingdom became the 12th member of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership, or CPTPP. Britain is the first European country to join the Indo-Pacfic bloc, its previous government led by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak billed the move as its "biggest trade deal" since Brexit. The bloc had 11 members before the UK: Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, and Vietnam.
