This Stray game guide video shows how to survive the Zurk encounter during the Rooftops chapter. You'll eventually reach a lever and pulling it will start the elevator. Zurks will start showing up and you need to defend yourself against them while the elevator is still going down. You have to stay on the move and try to circle around the area to prevent any monsters from approaching you from the front. Keep running away until the elevator has stopped. Climb inside and ask B-12 to interact with the terminal to make the elevator go up. You'll be safe here so you only have to wait for it to get to the top.
