My own villa | I got spoilt by a subscriber

A generous subscriber invited me as a guest to a luxury villa he owns forty minutes south of Colombo as I head south on my way to Galle.

I give you full tour of this luxury villa with its many bedrooms, balconies, games room, magnificent wood floors and finish which I’m so very fortunate to have the use of for a couple of days.

My host has business with the local yacht club and invites me to tag along. The Ceylon Motor Yacht Club is one of the oldest yacht clubs in Sri Lanka and I walk the grounds, look at a bell which was cast in the club’s inaugural year, view the trophy cabinet, and speak with a local boat repairer on the club grounds.

The next morning we take a boat ride on the lake and rivers of the area looking for local wildlife to then walk through the mangroves to visit a Sri Lankan mud hut which a private owner has filled with Sri Lankan artifacts from old telephones to old punishment restraints.

The video ends with what can only be described as the most splendid traditional Sri Lankan breakfast you could possibly wish for consisting of curries, Dahl, coconut roti, spicy fish and mew.
