"Ahay Goley" is the most common Bakhtiari song!
This famous song is sung especially at wedding parties. Women in wedding ceremonies are either dancing a Lori dance or singing traditional Lori songs. They sit in a semi-circle; one sings the song and the others repeat the refrain.
In this song, ‘gol’ means flower in Persian, and the word is used in almost all Lori songs. The poem is about the bride and groom and their families. In each nomadic tribe, some women know the songs by heart.
The woman in the video is called Bozorg and although she was illiterate, she knew so many songs and had a very lovely voice.
