Tama built it for Sput Searight, that floor tom named the 'Duo Snare' with the snares under it. We can say this, because he told us during a clinic. Drummers still experiment with sounds and creative drum-sound-combinations like this for a long and Tama finally took it in production in the Hyperdrive Duo series. Robert "Sput" Searight and Anika Nilles have this drum in their setup and it is a great addition if you want different snare effects. The sound is a safe bet with the Maple construction of the drums.
