How long do criminal records last in Florida? There's a myth that criminal records in Florida will go away after a certain amount of time. However, that's not always the case. In Florida, your records will stay online forever unless certain exceptions apply. For example, if your case is sealed or expunged, but otherwise the records will last forever. So, one thing you can do is reach out to our firm. We can help determine your eligibility to have your records either sealed or expunged, but other than that, those records could potentially stay online. There's a new process where there's automatic sealing done by the clerk of court, but unfortunately that doesn't totally remove those records from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement database.
