SUSTENHORN 3503m | 1-Day Alpine Climb via Stein Glacier – Central Switzerland

Описание: Join us on a full-day alpine adventure to the summit of Sustenhorn (3503m) – one of the most scenic climbs in Central Switzerland’s Uri Alps.
The tour starts from Parking Umpol, near the Steingletscher Hotel on the road to Sustenpass. The first section leads up to the Tierberglihütte (2795m), a marked T4 alpine trail with some secured passages. It takes around 2 hours to reach the hut – and if you start early, you might catch the sunrise behind Sustenhorn, just like we did.

After gearing up and having breakfast at the hut, the route continues across the Stein Glacier – a breathtaking traverse full of crevasses and icy formations. About 2.5 hours later, we reached the summit of Sustenhorn, where incredible views of Matterhorn, Lake Brienz, and the Bernese Alps open in every direction.

On the way back, we made a well-deserved stop at Tierberglihütte for a slice of their legendary Haslikuchen (hazelnut cake) – the perfect way to refuel after such a climb.
Round trip: 1 hour back to the car from the hut.
