Judas Swing is a price action pattern that occurs when price breaks out of a key support or resistance level (BSL/SSL), only to reverse and move in the opposite direction. This can often happen when price reaches a significant technical level, such as a pivot point, short term BSL/SSL, or a Fibonacci retracement level.
According to ICT, the Judas Swing is named after the biblical figure Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus with a kiss. In the context of trading, as I have already mentioned, the Judas Swing represents a fakeout move, where traders are lured into a trade by a false breakout, only to have the market reverse and move in the opposite direction, causing the traders to lose money.
