Millions of people in the US are under blizzard warnings as a major snowstorm impacts parts of the country’s north and east.
NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani declared a state of emergency and instituted a travel ban as New York braces for a second significant snowfall in less than a month.
The dangerous conditions not only prompted school districts across the northeast to cancel in-person classes, but air travel is also expected to be brought to a halt for some of the nation’s busiest airports.
More than 5,000 flights have already been cancelled in the US on Monday, local time, according to FlightAware.
