Part 7 of Jeek's E34 Rebuild - we're getting there but running into trouble! Got a replacement V8 gearbox after discovering that the E39 540i one wouldn't work. Guess what. It doesn't work either. There's no crank sensor bracket in the replacement box, and as the tolerances are so fine we can't cut and shut it.

And we're not transmission engineers either, and the boxes don't split very easily - so it's off to someone who knows how! However that pretty much means no skids for the car, it was meant to be used on Sunday 24th February. Gutted is not the word.

The boys crack on with some front bumper repairs, Stu is back at his trusty glassfibre resin getting the Zender front lip looking good again.

Jeek's also been on ebay and purchased some carbon fibre (effect!?) canards - meant for a BMW E90 - they're about half the size we expected and twice the price they should have been - Stu is unimpressed but unsurprised.

And last but not least - we have paint! It's here! But what colour is it?
