What is bump drafting?
Bump drafting is a racing technique where one car closely follows another and gently pushes it to increase the speed of both. This reduces aerodynamic drag and is commonly used on high-speed tracks like Daytona. When done correctly, it provides a competitive advantage but carries risks like instability or crashes if the push isn’t precise.
