Explaining chipping with bounce during an in-person lesson. The student had too much forward lean in the club shaft, causing him to chunk the ball. To compensate, he was leaning back to get the club out of the ground and thinning the ball as a result.
By extending the lead wrist through impact, the student can use bounce and loft to his advantage to make solid, crisp contact on chip shots. The motion should feel similar to an underhanded toss.
