We begin our look around Talbot Square Blackpool on the promenade near North Pier. Crossing the road the first interesting buildings is the Clifton Hotel, where Blackpool began as far back as 1750. Grade II listed it's being refurbished - find out about this interesting hotel, who built it and how it was named.

Next stop is Blackpool Town Hall in our tour of then and now in historic and new buildings. We're only going to manage a look at the entrance today but back then and now today, this is a mighty fine building, at the heart of Blackpool Conservation area.
