Tension flared in Mandya, Maddur district of Karnataka after stone-pelting occurred during the Ganesh Visarjan in Ram Rahim Nagar, allegedly by members of one community, leading to clashes between youths from both communities. Police resorted to lathi charge to disperse the agitators, and Section 144 has been imposed in the area to prevent further unrest. Karnataka Home Minister G. Parmeshwara confirmed that several arrests have been made and assured that the situation is under control.
