BYD held a smart strategy launch conference on February 10 and announced its national smart driving strategy. All of its models will be equipped with high-end smart driving technology, including the first 21 "Eye of God C" models on the market.
Three sets of "Eye of God"
BYD's "Eye of God" is currently reported to include three sets of technical solutions:
"Eye of God A": High-end smart driving three-laser version (DiPilot 600), mainly used in the Yangwang brand and equipped with 3 laser radar versions;
"Eye of God B": Advanced smart driving laser version (DiPilot 300), mainly used in the Denza and BYD brands, equipped with laser radar;
"Eye of God C": The high-end intelligent driving three-eye version (DiPilot 100), a pure vision solution mainly used in the BYD brand.
The main product introduced this time is the "Eye of God C", equipped with forward-looking three-eye 5R12V sensing hardware and end-to-end control algorithm.
What is the standard of the entire series?
The question everyone is most curious about is what is the minimum threshold value for "Eye of God C"?
"Eye of God C" generally covers BYD models ranging from 70,000 to 200,000 yuan.
To explain in more detail, the threshold model of BYD Dynasty Network is the second-generation Qin PLUS DM - i Intelligent Driving Edition; and the threshold model of BYD Ocean Network is the Seagull Intelligent Driving Edition.
Looking at the price range, at present, for models above 100,000 Yuan, "Eye of God C" has been "generally standardized". For models below 100,000 Yuan, you still need to pay attention to the versions. The upper limit of the "Eye of God C" solution is 200,000 Yuan class vehicle models. Above that, most of the laser radar solutions have adopted "Eye of God B" or "Eye of God A".
Is "Eye of God C" suitable?
The sensor hardware of the "DiPilot 100" adopts the "forward-looking three-eye 5R12V12U" solution, consisting of 5 millimeter wave radar (5R), 12 cameras (12V) and 12 ultrasonic radars (12U). The triple cameras on the front include two 120° 8-megapixel wide-angle cameras and one 30° 8-megapixel telephoto camera.
In terms of sensor hardware performance, according to the official introduction, the forward-looking trinocular can detect up to 350m; the front millimeter wave radar has a maximum detection distance of 300m with an angle accuracy of 0.1 degrees, and the synchronous detection distance of the angular millimeter wave radar is increased to 120m; the accuracy of the ultrasonic sensor is 1cm.
In terms of computing power configuration, the "Eye of God" uses the NVIDIA Orin-X chip with a computing power of up to 254TOPS. The higher-end version is equipped with dual Orin-X, and the computing power is directly increased to 508TOPS. The algorithm used is BYD's self-developed "BAS 3.0+ parking algorithm architecture".
In terms of data, BYD has sold more than 4.4 million vehicles equipped with L2 and above driving assistance, 4.4 million vehicles equipped with L2 and above, established more than 500,000 scene libraries, trained 72 million kilometers per day, and the model can be iterated every 7 days. It is expected that by the end of 25 years, the daily training mileage will exceed 150 million kilometers, and China's largest vehicle cloud database will be established.
In terms of data mining, VLM is based on its multi-mode big model. When mining big data, it automatically obtains difficult perception patterns and driving behaviors of experienced drivers, thus rapidly accumulating high-value training data. The second is to train the industry-leading smart driving world model based on a large amount of smart driving data through unsupervised reconstruction. Just input simple text information to generate high-value data and continuously improve the safety of smart driving.
It is worth mentioning that DeepSeek has been integrated into the "Eye of God" at both the smart driving and smart cabin ends.
In terms of the functions it performs, HNOA can complete driving tasks such as entrance/exit ramps, lane tracking, constant speed driving, autonomous lane changing, avoiding/circling some obstacles, etc. according to the planned navigation path on highways and urban highways. In addition, valet parking service AVP can also perform functions such as getting in and out, locking and parking the vehicle, taking items whenever you want and enjoying them instantly according to real parking habits and scenarios.
Overall, BYD's most cost-effective solution in high-end intelligent driving systems, "Eye of God C", has a high lower limit, high cost, relatively comprehensive functions and big claims. Of course, whether it works or not ultimately depends on real tests.
