A heart-wrenching scene unfolded after the fire tragedy at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, where families struggled to locate their loved ones. A relative of one patient claimed that after doctors removed a “chunchi” (medical needle) from the patient’s body, the patient was not brought back, raising fears that the child may have gone missing.

In an emotional appeal, the relative said, “They removed the needle from my child’s body… but my child has not been brought back. Where has my child gone?” The statement reflects the panic and confusion among families searching for admitted patients.

The incident comes after a major fire broke out in the trauma care ICU of SCB Medical College and Hospital, reportedly killing at least 10 patients and injuring several others during evacuation efforts. Authorities have launched investigations into the cause of the blaze and hospital safety measures.
