Описание: Day 1 on the Benton MacKaye trail: Got dropped off by Ron Brown the shuttle driver at Springer Mtn parking at 2.30pm. Nice and sunny until I got to BMT trailhead. It started pouringgggg!!! The trail looked like a running creek. Since I started late, I only hiked 8 miles. It rained off and on all night. I slept so well despite the anxiety of starting a thru-hike. :) Hope to be able to get into that thru-hiker's mindset again.
