After entering the 'restricted area' of Mustang. Immediately to the right of the seated Sherpa is the walled-village of Tetang. This village is thought to date from around 500CE. The high, windowless external walls and single city gate, speak of times when this whole region was a collection of petty kingdoms involved in frequent wars with their neighbours. To walk through the narrow lanes of this village is a step back to medieval times.
