It is an XML file that resides in the base directory of the project as pom. xml. The POM contains information about the project and various configuration detail used by Maven to build the project(s). To make a Spring web application, we need to configure several xml files. First of all, we need to add Spring dependencies to spring Web MVC maven project. This tutorial also covers the following aspects of Spring Web MVC.

1. Creating a new Maven Project (Spring WEB MVC Archtype)
