R&S Records Short films present A Journey Through The Spectrum Of Drum & Bass by Loxy & Ink

Описание: R&S Records, the legendary Belgian independent dance label founded by Renaat Vandepapeliere & Sabine Maes in 1983, launches a new series of short films, exploring the musical journeys and stories of artists from around the world.

The label, which has been at the forefront of global electronic music for nearly four decades and forged the careers of artists like The Aphex Twin, James Blake, Joey Beltram, Gabriels, Dave Angel, Ken Ishii, Lone, Djrum and countless others, moves into the world of short storytelling and cultural documentation with an inaugural film from UK drum & bass pioneers, Loxy & Ink. The new film series will encompass a broad spectrum of content, from art, philosophy, culture and social comment and opinion.

“A Journey Through The Spectrum Of Drum & Bass” follows the London based DJs & producers as they reminisce on the early days of their career, from the pirate radio station days, dubplate culture, the coloration between music and fashion and the explosion of drum & bass as a musical genre onto the worldwide stage.

Loxy & Ink were both present at the inception of the birth of UK dance music culture and continue to be torchbearers. One glance at the CV of both artists will show you everything you need to know. They were both residents & recording artists at three incredibly important clubs & record labels: Metalheadz at Blue Note, Speed at Mars Bar and Renegade Hardware at The End. Throughout their careers, as collaborators and individuals, Loxy & Ink have continued to make and play music that connects with them on a deeper level and have both seen success as rappers and music creators that stretches from dub techno to hip hop to house.

The duo recently released their debut for R&S Records with the “Manifested Visions” EP, which featured collaborations with Resound, Jodi Lulati and Miriam Safo. A full-length album for the label is currently in the works.
