Chilika Dolphin Census: Boats Banned for 3 Days to Protect Rare Dolphins

Описание: The Forest Department has issued a three-day ban on all types of boats in Chilika Lake to facilitate the census of rare dolphins.
From January 20th to 22nd, all boats and passenger vessels in Chilika will remain suspended from 6 AM to 12 PM to ensure a smooth counting process. 18 teams from Chilika Forest Division have been deployed for the survey.
A training meeting has also been organized to ensure the census is carried out efficiently. The restriction aims to prevent disturbances to the dolphins during the counting period.
