Self-defense shooting: Bank robber shot by customer with concealed carry pistol - TomoNews

Описание: WARREN, MICHIGAN — A bank robbery suspect was shot by a customer on Monday afternoon at a Citizen’s Bank in Warren, Michigan.

According to Click on Detroit, the attempted bank robbery was foiled after the teller handed over some money to the suspect, who was described as a 43-year-old male.

The Detroit News reported that the incident took place around 4:30 p.m. The robber pointed his gun at a customer, a 63-year-old male, who proceeded to pull out his own gun and shoot the suspect three times. The gunfire hit the suspect in both arms and one of his legs.

The customer is cooperating with police and won’t be charged in the shooting because he had a concealed weapons permit and was acting within his rights, the Detroit Free Press reported.

“I’m happy that no one was seriously injured. He apparently exercised some caution by not shooting the robber in a vital area,” Warren Mayor Jim Fouts told the Detroit Free Press.

“This citizen did have a 2nd Amendment right. He must have been a pretty good shot,” Fouts said.

Fouts added: “I would caution people against using firearms unless absolutely necessary.”
