Mongo got Itchy again tonight but makes good progress. With the best of intentions Mongo sets the phone up on the tripod to record the action shots for tonight episode however in the fumbling with the camera he must of brushed the record button and turned it off, or someone reached out for him and it shut the recorder off automatically. In either case Mongo was able to run on at the mouth long enough to capture enough video to post an update to the progress he made this evening on Phoenix. With all the stringers removed from the hull Mongo started to pull the transom off the fiberglass and is surprised that there is only 1 layer of chop strand on the inner surface of the transom. Every video posted on the YouTubes shows people laminating several layers of chop strand and 1708 mat on the inner portion of the transom. Mongo has been watching the Frisco Boater and Boat Works Today for guidance along the way throughout the project. He is no stranger to catalyst hardeners and mixing body filler so we hope he knows what he's doing when it comes to the resin in the fiber glass. Only time will tell and you have a front row seat in the entire process. Thank you for watching the video series and for hanging out with Mongo in the garage! 44 days left.
Mongo has been watching both of these excellent channels for guidance on boat repair.
