🔹 Battalion Havildar Major Pawan Singh, Sena Medal (Gallantry) — 49 Air Defence Regiment — deployed at Pathankot Air Base during the most intense phase of aerial threat activity.
When Operation Sindoor was launched, he was on leave. With days of leave remaining, he made a decision that defined his character — he returned voluntarily to the frontline, leaving administrative duties behind to man an L-70 Air Defence Gun at a live combat position.
What followed were three relentless nights of:

▪️ Live ammunition deployment
▪️ Missile impact within 50 meters of his gun position
▪️ Incoming aircraft alerts from 130+ km out
▪️ Zero room for error — because his was the last defensive layer before the airbase
Through torrential rain, pitch darkness, radar interference, and split-second weapon-free calls, his section engaged and neutralized multiple hostile drones with precision fire.
