I believe part of what makes us youthful is the desire to learn and grow and viewing life as a big adventure to be experienced and explored.
Somewhere along the line, we believe we know everything we need to know and we think now I just need to "do" and the more I do the better I will be, but think about that for a moment, your greatest times of growth and advancement are when you are young and something is new. You have a certain disposition that encourages the growth and development of thoughts and ideas. I think we tend to get stale and stagnant if we are not careful, we can do what we have always done and get what we have always gotten. What happens when what we have always gotten is no longer enough? The problem for many of us at this point is we are caught in a place where we feel like we can’t ask for help because we should know it all by now.
Humility welcomes help and pride pushes it away. If you are prideful or people perceive you to be that way, they will not offer to help you because they do not want to be rejected. If you are humble and operate with a beginners mindset you may be given unsolicited help, but people will see your eagerness to grow and develop and opportunities will be presented to you because of it.
