This was filmed on April 16 during the 2023 Manila International Auto Show at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, Philippines from April 13 to 16, 2023. This day was also a collaboration day with John Agustin Scuderia and Julian Dumpit. One of the six vehicles that was featured in a point-of-view driving video during MIAS was the 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander Cross. Thank you to Worldbex Services Intl (organizer of MIAS), Mitsubishi Philippines, Mitsubishi Fairview (Gateway), and Mr. Jasper Martinez for making this test drive possible.

Impressions/observations during the test drive:
The exterior of the Xpander Cross looks more on the rugged side, rather than the sporty side like the Honda BR-V and the classic look of the Suzuki Ertiga. The Xpander Cross looks like a vehicle that one would bring on some outdoor activities like light off-roading and camping, because of its overall exterior design. Moving over into the interior, the materials are good and are on par with its competition. One feature that the Xpander has, but the BRV and Ertiga don't is the fully digital driver's display which even has 3 different choices of design. Like those two cars, the infotainment system of the Xpander is responsive and easy to use.
The power outputs of these vehicles are almost the same to each other and they (including this Xpander) make enough output to move the car quickly when needed so and smoothly when just driving casually. Its power is transferred to the front wheels by a 4-speed auto, which does its tasks well enough during both casual and quicker-paced driving. This is subjectively preferable over CVTs in some of its competition like the BRV. It's nice that they did not use a CVT even if this same model is offered with such transmission in other markets. The accelerator and brake pedals are responsive enough to inputs which make the car easy to drive quickly when it is safe to do so. Another responsive part is the steering which is light, but not vague and has some good feedback. This makes it quite fun to drive around corners. Its Active Yaw Control system also adds to the car's stability at various speeds. The comfort given by the suspension and the noise insulation are good.
