Hey everyone! This week, we're wrapping up the custom fender skirts (or "spats" as some call them) for the 1951 Chevy lead sled. We’ll be applying stone guard, painting the inside, and giving the lock mechanism a fresh coat. Plus, we’ll work on gluing and fitting the rubber seals onto the skirts with some success.
In addition, we'll stone guard and paint the rest of the boot floor panels, and remove the last of the bitumen underseal from the back of the headlight buckets before priming and painting them.
We’re getting a lot done in this hot rod build, but sometimes it still feels like a slow grind. These details may not always be visible in a kustom or restoration project, but they’re essential to protect the car and help it last another 70 years!
